1. This past weekend
We are so proud of every kid who raced / rode on Sunday! The kids were awesome teammates and great sports.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to those who helped our team including at the tent, in the feed zone, along the course cheering the kids on, and those who volunteered so the races could go on, and those who helped pack up!
Thanks to those who checked on us coaches, and helped where they could so we could focus on our team kids. We were going non-stop and exhausted, but it was so worth it!
2. Feedback please
Parents, please would you give us feedback about the race weekend through this form. We want to give our kids the best experience possible. We also care about you and your families including our team dogs.
3. Practice this week and next
6-8 pm is our new practice time for the next couple of weeks:
- Thursday, September 14 and
- Thursday, September 21.
Lights are required; front and rear. It will be cooler, but we still need kids to bring enough water, and to stay hydrated. There may not be water fountains along our ride routes.

We ride in different locations for variety and different experiences, but also to help with equity. We have families in different parts of Lancaster County so it’s good if everyone gets a practice or two closer to their homes. We also like to be in different communities to hopefully recruit more kids and coaches. We’ll be riding gravel to help build endurance, practice free speed, and passing with good etiquette.
4. More kids
If you know other middle school and high school kids who might like to join us, please refer them to our website, and have parents/guardians fill out the interest form on our website. We’d especially love to have more girls join our team! High school girls especially!
5. Non-NICA race this weekend
Saturday, September 16, as part of the Nebraska Off-Road Series, there will be races at Platte River, Louisville, NE.
It’s NOT a team event (don’t wear Lancaster Composite jerseys), so coaches if we go will have our non-coaching hats on. We still love seeing our team kids and parents, we just won’t be coaching.
We look forward to seeing our kids again!
