LCMTB Week 15

Hi Parents,

Thanks to the Lunquists (Mischa, Nettie, Coach Evrett, Ruth and Smalls) for hosting the family ride and potluck last weekend!  Thanks to all who made it out and to those who brought wonderful things to share.

There have been requests for the cornbread recipe so if you brought it, please would you share your recipe.

Did you see Coach Jesse’s guest blog about our team?  https://www.bicyclincoln.org/2023/10/09/trail-ramblings-local-mountain-bike-team-prepares-for-weekend-events-at-branched-oak-lake-area-7/. Thanks Coach Jesse!  Give yourselves and your kids a pat on the back!

Branched Oak WeekendNote: Times are different this weekend at Branched Oak compared to past events.3-4 pm GRiT ride for girls on the team.

4-5 pm Lancaster Composite pre-ride.Ready to roll before 4 pm so kids will have the opportunity to ride multiple laps.Coaches would like to talk to students about what to expect before we pre-ride.
The league is organizing a moving night Saturday evening but we don’t know details yet.  Starts at 7:45 pm.  Sounds like it’s an outdoors movie with snacks.

We do not have the call-up orders yet.  Please note the times (see attached). If you know your kid/s won’t be able to make it, please let us know.More volunteers are needed for the race weekend.  Can we get six people to help with in-field set-up on Saturday?  The race flier and sign-up are here:https://nebraskamtb.org/2023-weekend-events/

Does anyone want to meet for pizza in Raymond after our preride/GRiT ride? We’ll head over together if anyone wants to join.

Remember you’ll need a State Park parking permit at Branched Oak. https://outdoornebraska.gov/permits/

The weather will be cooler so kids won’t need to carry as much water but they will still need to stay hydrated.  Dressing in layers is recommended as well as full fingered gloves for the middle school boys’ race.  Spectating can get cold so dress warmly.

End of Season Party Thanks Melissa and other parents who volunteered to help us with our end of season party, Sunday, November 5th.Please RSVP to the end of season evite if you haven’t already:
